WHO WE ARE

Pittsburgh Sk8 Collaborative (PGH SK8) was formed in the beginning of 2023 by a group of roller skaters who wanted to share their passion for the hobby they love. With no dedicated roller rinks in Pittsburgh, PGH SK8 centered its mission and vision around creating safe spaces and building a community of skaters of all styles, abilities, ages, races, bodies, and genders. By providing opportunities, equipment, and pro-skating advocacy, we hope to raise awareness of roller skating as a healthy, low-cost and viable activity for everyone.

OUR GOAL

PGH SK8 has an exciting project that promises to revitalize community spirit and promote active, joyful living throughout Pittsburgh: a Portable Roller Rink Floor. 

With our own Portable Roller Rink Floor, PGH SK8 will have the flexibility to host roller skating events throughout Pittsburgh: in local parks, school gyms, and on protected streets for neighborhood gatherings. The rink floor will be composed of interlocking court tiles made of high-quality, breathable materials, with the ability to custom-size rinks for each venue. The attractive and colorful floor helps to even-out ground surfaces, and gives new and cautious skaters the confidence they need to try roller skating.  

The downside? These tiles aren’t cheap.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

PGH SK8 aims to make roller skating accessible to everyone, creating spaces for fun and fitness that can be enjoyed anywhere. But we can’t bring this dream to life without your support! Your generous contribution will not only help fund our Portable Roller Rink Floor and associated maintenance costs, but will also ensure that countless individuals can experience the joy and camaraderie that roller skating brings. 

We appreciate any level of support you can provide! PGH SK8 would like to thank our donors with the following:

  • Make a donation of $100 or more to earn a Private 1 on 1 Lesson with one of our Skate School instructors. 

  • Make a donation of $1000 or more and earn a small group lesson (up to 10 people) with our Skate School instructors.

  • Make a donation of $8000 or more to host your own Roller Disco for up to 100 people!

Together, let's roll towards a future filled with smiles, laughter, and shared memories. Join us in making this vision a reality and spread the love of roller skating far and wide!
