What is PGH SK8 School?
PGH SK8 School is our flagship program which aims to create a safe space for all ages and abilities to learn how to skate. Our instructors teach various styles and technical skills in a welcoming environment. We are relocating to the Homewood YMCA starting April 8., 2025.
Location until April 1, 2025: Youthplaces 711 W Commons, Pittsburgh, PA 15212
New Location starting April 8, 2025: Homewood Brushton YMCA, 7140 Bennett St, Pittsburgh, PA 15208
Lessons until April 1, 2025 : Mondays & Tuesdays 6:30-8:00pm
Lessons starting April 8, 2025 : Tuesdays 7:00-8:15pm ( lessons begin promptly at 7:15pm but we suggest coming at 7:00 to get laced up)
Skates available to borrow
Bring a water bottle, vending machines available. No food in Gym.
Students are encouraged to stay and practice after lessons at open skate.
All ages & abilities welcome
Open Skate until April 1, 2025: Mondays & Tuesdays 8:00-9:30pm
Open Skate starting April 8, 2025: Tuesdays 8:15-9:30pm
Must have your own skates
Great time to practice without lessons
Vending machines available, please bring your own water bottle.

Complete this waiver (Everyone needs to fill out NEW waiver 1 time in 2025!)
Come to Youthplaces gymnasium, check in, let us know if you need to borrow skates and HAVE FUN!
